Infant 1: 6 weeks – 6 months
Infant 2: 6 months – 12 mos.
Tiny Tots: 12 months – 18 months
Toddler : 18 months – 2.5 years
Early Preschool: 2.5 years-3.5 years
Preschool 1: 3 years – 4 years Preschool 2: 3 years – 4 years Preschool 3: 4 years – entering Kindergarten
Community Children’s Center’s classrooms are licensed by the state of Michigan, and therefore admission is subject to the above age parameters, as well as staff-to-child ratios set by the state of Michigan.

Infant One
Infants receive nurturing and loving care, responsive to their needs and to their stage of development. The infants in our care are exposed to a wide range of tactile and sensory experiences. Music, Books and developmentally appropriate toys are among the many things you will see in our classroom.

Infant Two
Infants continue to have care that is responsive to their needs and their stage of development. The infants in this room are exposed to a variety of tactile and sensory experiences. Toys, books, Christian songs and outdoor play are important parts of our day as well.

Tiny Tots
As a child reach 12 months (and depending on readiness), they move to our Tiny Tots (12month-18 month) room. This room contains toys and equipment for little ones “on the move.” They learn about interacting socially with others, building self-help skills, and exploring their surroundings (both inside and outside). Daily activities include stories, songs, art and outdoor play.

Toddler
Children between the ages of 18 months and 2.5 years move to the toddler room. This room implements more of the day routine and structure including the child’s first experience with learning centers. At this age, children are no longer “on demand” (eat, sleep, play on their own schedule), but are rather on a daily classroom set schedule. Meals and naps, outdoor and indoor play, circle time and table activities are part of a daily schedule. There are more opportunities to build fine and gross motor skills in this room. Circle time engages children with songs, fingerplays and learning games.

Preschool Three
Our children in this room range from age 4-6 years old(entering kindergarten). Our preschool classrooms are arranged in centers where children move around the room and learn by doing. Our centers may include housekeeping, writing, library corner, art, sand and water play, science and more. This room continues the learning from preschool 1 and 2 with growing relationships and taking the skills and concepts learned building upon those to support children to transition to kindergarten ready to succeed.
This room has weekly visits from volunteers to provide our program with bible lessons, bible stories and music and movement.

Early Preschool
Children between the ages of 2.5-3.5 are eligible to attend Early Preschool. The most structured portion of the preschool day takes place between 9:00am and 12:00pm. Children learn age-appropriate concepts and skills. In this room Potty training is introduced and accomplished prior to heading on to the next room. Outdoor play and exploration are a daily occurrence.

Summer Programs
Summer programming for school age children is in the works for the future at CCC. We may have summer enrollment space open for preschool age children.
Feel free to join the summer waitlist. If we have openings, the summer program will run June-August with a separate summer tuition rate. Rates will be posted when and if summer spots become available. You will not hear from this waitlist until approximately March.

Preschool
One and Two
Fully toilet Trained children between the ages of 3-4 years will enjoy one of our preschool classrooms. The structured portion of the day takes place from 9:00am-12:00pm. Children experience growth in relationships while learning age-appropriate concepts and skills. We have circle time with calendar and counting activities, songs, stories and fingerplays. We provide opportunities for large and small group activities. Center based play and daily outdoor time.
This room has weekly visits from volunteers to provide our program with bible lessons, bible stories and music and movement.
