Christmas and New Year's Break

We are closed from Monday, December 23, 2024 to Wednesday, January 1, 2025

We will re-open on Thursday, January 2, 2025

Inclement Weather Policy

For the safety of our staff and enrolled children, our policy is as follows:

When Traverse City schools (TCAPS) are closed or delayed due to bad weather, then CCC is automatically on a TWO-HOUR DELAY.

This means we will open at 9:00am instead of 7:00am.
Please check local news stations for TCAPS closure updates.

By 7:30am, a decision will be made regarding whether CCC will remain on the delay or close for the day (this happens rarely, and will depend on the forecast for the day, as well as other business/daycare closures).

If we decide we must close, we will: Alert you with a Brightwheel notification
*CCC reserves the right to delay or close independently from TCAPS. You will receive a Brightwheel notification by 6:30am if we are on a delay or closing, even if TCAPS is open for normal hours.

Please check the Brightwheel App.
*We will also use this means of communication regarding unexpected closures due to building issues (i.e. power outages, frozen pipes, etc.).

Please Note – Unexpected delays and closures due to weather or facility issues will be charged at the normal tuition rate if your child is scheduled to attend on those days.

Illness Policy

Children, staff, and volunteers are required to be kept home (and excluded from CCC activities) if they have any of the following:
Pink Eye
Any type of lesions
Vomiting
Diarrhea (multiple watery stools within a short amount of time)
Fever over 100.4 degrees (without fever reducing medication).**
Ear ache/ear discharge
Live lice or nits (eggs – dead or alive) in hair (Excluded until all are gone)
Any ailment other than ear infection or tooth infection that requires the prescription of antibiotics (first 24 hours on medication)
Active/On-Set of Hand, Foot, and Mouth

*Nasal discharge will be monitored and dealt with on a case-by-case basis, some children with chronic allergies have continuous discharge diagnosed by a doctor
**A note about teething: Mayo Clinic & the American Academy of Pediatrics state that teething may cause a lowgrade fever of under 100.4 degrees.

Children, staff, and volunteers may return to CCC when:
They are free of elevated temperature (100.4 or higher) for at least 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication).
Antibiotics (if prescribed for a contagious ailment)* have been taken for 24 hours.
A doctor has seen the questionable symptoms, and states in writing that the person is ready to return.
Hand, Foot, and Mouth lesions are dried and scabbed over (no open lesions).

*Ear and Tooth Infections not accompanied with a fever may return in less than 24 hours.

Guardians May be informed/questioned concerning the following:
Rashes, Spots, or Sores
Goopy/Runny Eyes
Excessive Cough and/or Runny Nose
Unusual marks on the skin (ringworm, etc.).

In these cases, parents may be requested to pick up their child and bring a doctors note for their return.
